Make an origami Miffy pt.2

STEP 1

Begin with a square piece of paper, the same size as Miffy’s head – we used 15cm x 15cm. Fold a little bit of the paper up from the bottom (1) – this will become Miffy’s feet. Then turn the piece of paper 90 degrees and fold it in half (2 & 3).

STEP 2

Unfold your paper and fold the bottom half to the creased centre line (4) that you have just made. Do the same with the upper half (5). Turn the paper over (6).

STEP 3

Fold the bottom half to the creased centre line (7). Do the same with the upper half (8). Flip the paper over and open out the yellow pieces (9 & 10).

STEP 4

Fold the paper in half (11) and unfold again (12).

STEP 5

Fold a small part of the bottom up (13 & 14) – check the other side and make sure it’s only up to the height of the feet.  Unfold this (15).

STEP 6

Push your finger gently into the small hole at the bottom (16) to make a kite shape (17). Fold the paper in half (18) to make a crease. Unfold it.

STEP 7

Pop the middle flaps to the left-hand side (19). On the right, fold a thin diagonal line to make the legs (20). Then open the middle flap back up (21).

STEP 8

Repeat the above steps with the left-hand side and then open both middle flaps (24).

STEP 9

Fold the paper in half to make a crease (25). Then unfold and cut up to the crease you just made (26 & 27).

STEP 10

Fold the parts you have cut diagonally, to make a crease for the arms (28 & 29). Put them both back in. Next, make a small, slightly diagonal fold on right-hand side (30).

STEP 11

Do the same for the left side (31 & 32). Fold both arms back out (33).

STEP 12

Turn your piece of paper over. On the bottom of the arms, fold a small part up to make Miffy’s hands (34 & 35). You can cut the corner of these off to make them softer. After, cut or fold the edges of Miffy’s feet to make them rounder (36).

STEP 13

Flip your Miffy over and slot her body into her origami head (37). Turn Miffy over!
