Miffy is originally from the Netherlands – there are all sorts of Miffy things to see and do there like Miffy traffic lights, shops, exhibitions and museums.
Head to Maastricht if you feel like adding to your Miffy collection. De Winkel Van Nintje is a cute little shop near the canal with all the Miffy products you could dream of! There’s also another store in Amsterdam, just a 17-minute drive from Schiphol airport.
Next stop in Maastricht, the ‘miffy on holiday’ exhibition in Centre Ceramique which runs until the 14th October. Perfect for a summer holiday trip! There is plenty to do for little ones as well as sessions for adults to learn more about Dick Bruna’s artistic style.
You can also visit the Miffy in her hometown of Utrecht. To celebrate her 60th birthday in 2015, Miffy sculptures were decorated by local artists and placed all around the town as part of an art parade. You can still see a couple of the giant Miffys in front of the Miffy Museum and at the ‘Mariaplaats’ square, where she feels right at home!
Finally, see the life of Miffy develop at Studio Dick Bruna, now at the Centraal Museum in Utrecht. Get up close and personal with Miffy’s creator and see a selection of over 6,000 of his works, including his original drawings for our favourite children’s book.
There are lots of permanent Miffy sights to see like Miffy traffic lights, the Miffy square, Miffy mosaic and Miffy Museum which are all in the sweet city of Utrecht. Find out more about those HERE.
